The American Birding Association Field Guide to Birds of Wisconsin, written by former BirdWatching magazine editor-in-chief Charles Hagner, is the most up-to-date photographic guide to the state’s birds available today. In this photo-filled presentation, the author will lay out the factors that make Wisconsin one of the best states in the country for birdwatching, including its location on the continent, a multitude of lakes, rivers, and varied landscapes, a welcoming culture and proud conservation history, and four full seasons. He will outline the best ways anyone can learn to identify birds, reveal signs and clues that experienced birdwatchers rely on when identifying birds, and explain why birdwatching in Wisconsin can be enjoyed all year round, even in winter. Chuck is a Wisconsin native and lifelong birder. He is the director of Bird City Wisconsin and chair of the Western Great Lakes Bird and Bat Observatory. He was editor-in-chief of BirdWatching magazine from 2001 to 2017.
