Christmas Bird Count

Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is one of the longest running citizen science efforts. Birders count everything seen and heard within a 15-mile radius circle over the course of 24 hours. There are two counts going on in Milwaukee County. These are organized counts – everyone must get a location designation from the respective organizer. Reach out to Norma for the Schlitz count on Saturday and/or to Carol at Wehr for the Sunday count.

Schlitz Audubon has a circle in the northern end of Milwaukee county’s on Saturday December 19. Contact Norma, robnz54 at gmail.com, for more information and to get assigned a location.

Wehr Nature Center coordinates a Christmas Bird Count covering southern portion of Milwaukee county on Sunday Dec 20.

Norma and Zoe are coordinating the north circle.
Wehr is in charge of the southern circle.
