Friday

7:30 Meet at Hwy 41 Pilgrim Rd (WIS DOT Park and Ride 67-85) to caravan to Horicon Marsh

8:30 – 11:30 West end of Point Rd (1) walk in a bit – (2) Find the Limpkin along Hwy 49 with scopes – (3) Auto tour

Packed lunches at picnic site parking lot

Head to International Crane Foundation (1 hr travel time)

1:00 – 3:00 ICF ($12.50 admission. Tours at 1 and 3pm.  If we get 10 people we can schedule our own tour for additional $10 each). They have 100 cranes with every species represented. They do research and conservation around the world to protect cranes.

3:00/4:00 Leave for Honey Creek State Natural Area

4:00/5:00 Set up camp at Honey Creek Cox Nature Center

Communal/Potluck dinner – not sure about fire rules yet. Plan on food that does not need cooking

Facilities: Pit toilets with running water in sinks, potable pumped water, a few electrical outlets.  Shelter building available if needed

Saturday

5:00am Dawn chorus birding followed by BYOBreakfast

Hike up Honey Creek and down Dischler field

11:00am Depart/ Lunch on your own

Stay ina hotel Friday night. The Skyview Motel is closest. It’s comfy and clean


Purple Martin Fest

July 1 in Sheboygan Falls and Oostburg from 12:00pm – 4:00pm
