Last Week:
We were a small, cold group on Sunday. Apparently, it is now winter. We met at the Oak Creek Outlet parking lot (eBird list in location links). There was not much along the bridge or woods. However on the lake there were three Buffleheads and a Bald Eagle flying in the distance. A stop at the Grant Park feeder was productive with many of the expected feeder birds, no Evening Grosbeaks yet. Our final destination was Cudahy Park. A long cold walk across the field allowed us to count many Robins. In the woods it was slow. On the east side things picked up with a Hermit Thrush, Golden–Crowned Kinglets, nuthatches and woodpeckers. Before heading back across the field we huddled against the building to count over a hundred European Starlings.

One response to “Nov 5: Coal Dock Park”
A footnote for the photo of the tree with the starlings there are also several American robins present. One is flying away.
